Day 4 - Saturday 5th August
HERE WE COME!
An early wake up
before dawn to go and visit the magnificent Anzac Hill. From there we could
view the whole of Alice Springs and sat and watched the colourful sunrise as it
came over the horizon. After taking in the surroundings and admiring the
monument, we made our way back to our hotel to have breakfast and pack our bags
ready to check out and make our way to Santa Teresa later on in the day.
After having some
free time and doing some shopping, we enjoyed a delicious lunch at a nice
little café. Now with full bellies, we made our way to Woolies to do our
humungous shop for the week, let’s just say we definitely aren’t going to go
hungry.
Now that we had
everything we needed and after receiving some funny looks for having 5 trolleys
of shopping, we finally started our venture to our main destination, Santa
Teresa. The trip was enjoyable and made quick with the windows down, singalongs
and the vast views to admire along the way.
Pulling into Santa
Teresa, some people were surprised that it wasn’t what they expected. But still
incredible none the less. We went straight to our residence and we were visited
by Sister Liz in which she welcomed us and gave us a spill on the place and the
people. Ben and Steph were the lucky ones to be nominated to go for a drive
with Brother Paul in the troopy to go and collect some firewood for our campout
tomorrow night. For the rest of the
afternoon we unpacked and then all gave a hand in the kitchen to cook and do
dishes, as well as preparing food for tomorrow nights campout. Brother Paul
came and visited us again during dinner and talked to us about our campout and
what to expect.
Chloe is whipping up a casserole which we are all excited to
try tomorrow. Our expectations are high, Ramsey Gordon high, so she better not
let us down.
To finish off the night we had one last game of UNO and
headed off to bed. We are looking forward to heading up the hill to the Santa
Teresa Cross tomorrow morning.
Today we leave you with this question… was our grocery shop
the biggest that any immersion group from CCS has ever done?
